Nestled in the heart of Princeton, BC, Clare and William’s wedding at Chain Lake felt like stepping into a storybook. Held on her family’s lakeside property—where her parents said their vows decades before—this day carried layers of meaning, memory, and timeless beauty.
From the moment we arrived, the air was filled with that unmistakable cozy cabin summer feeling: the scent of pine, gentle ripples of the lake, and the hum of laughter echoing through the trees. Clare and William wanted their wedding to feel authentic—less about performance, more about presence. Every frame, whether on digital or 35 mm film, told a small truth about their love: honest, nostalgic, and entirely their own.
As documentarian photographers, we focused on storytelling over staging—capturing moments as they unfolded, the soft in-betweens that so often hold the most meaning. Their day was a perfect reflection of what we love most about authentic wedding photography: the quiet pauses, the sun-drenched laughter, the imperfect and unforgettable.
Guests danced barefoot on woven carpets under the open sky, the glow of dusk settling over the water. The entire day felt like a love letter—to summer, to family, to the kind of joy that doesn’t need anything polished to shine.
